Vendum, Commodity Market Makers Automate Business Processes Using Zoho One

About Company
Vendum is a commodity market maker for daily essential items, with operations based in Trichy and Pondicherry. The company procures daily essentials from sellers and supplies them to buyers ensuring quality, quantity, and competitive pricing. Its core focus is on LPG, vegetables, and fruit commodities.
Vendum optimizes commodity market functioning by connecting buyers and sellers through reverse auction-based trading. This approach facilitates transparent and competitive pricing based on real-time demand and supply.
The Challenge
Vendum manages the procurement and supply of commodities daily, requiring the secure maintenance of vast buyer and seller data. The volume of data was large and needed to be properly safeguarded and handled efficiently.
The company's mobile application supported reverse auction processes for commodity procurement. Vendum follows an “Order to Collection” lifecycle with multiple distinct phases for delivering commodities to buyers.
The process from initiation to order taking and delivery can start either manually or automatically, depending on the customer type. The primary challenge was to manage deals, sales orders, and delivery orders based on varying criteria while tracking these orders with detailed real-time reports and insights.
The Requirement
Streamlining data of buyers and sellers
Automating business processes
Managing sales orders and delivery challans
Generating multiple financial reports and user-based reports
The Solution
Before adopting a system, the firm consistently analyzed the most versatile and cost-effective ERP solutions available. After evaluating various platforms, Vendum chose Zoho One for its affordability, user-friendly interface, and flexibility. As a first step, the company began using Zoho Books for financial management.
Senthuraa Technologies was then brought in to manage Zoho Books and deliver customized reporting. After understanding the organization’s requirements, Senthuraa recommended developing a custom application using Zoho Creator to manage sales and delivery processes.
The custom app was then integrated with Zoho Books and Zoho CRM for order and customer data management, and Zoho Analytics was used for generating real-time financial and user-based reports.
As discussed with the firm, the custom solution was built to manage sales orders and delivery challans with various deal-specific criteria. Automation, workflows, and custom functions were used to ensure a streamlined, productive business process.
